Information Delivery System
Dreampact has recently design and developed technology to primarily provide audible information to nearby users equipped with an appropriate wireless beacon. Incorporating an ARM9 microprocessor and running the eCos Real-Time Operating System, this is a powerful and flexible platform incorporating several wireless technologies suitable for a diverse range of applications.
Using 433MHz transceiver technology, short-range packetized bi-directional wireless communications with other equipment is possible. The system is also equipped with Bluetooth allowing wireless communications with a PDA. Dreampact developed the PDA software to allow configuration changes and provide the means of downloading statistical data from on-board Compact Flash via Bluetooth.
The system also supports Mobitex, allowing long distance remote control and monitoring of units distributed in the field using a reliable national network. Text-to-speech capability is also incorporated allowing audible information delivery to be updated in real time.
Dreampact were responsible for the technical feasibility study, architecture, design and development of the prototype boards and all associated embedded and application software.
